Articles
Articles
Articles are news posts, announcements, and training content on your member site. Organize them into Blogs, tag them with Categories, and optionally embed videos that award Watch Points. Articles appear when members open a blog from your Menus or when you add Articles or Articles Preview components in Design Studio.
This guide covers the Articles, Categories, and Blogs tabs under Content → Articles.
Overview
From Content → Articles you can:
- Publish articles with rich text, hero images, and optional video
- Group articles into blogs (for example, “Company News” or “Product Updates”)
- Label articles with one or more categories for filtering on the member site
- Control visibility with member and company tags
- Award watch points when members complete embedded videos
- Review watch history per article (member, date, points awarded)

Prerequisites
- An open program with program administrator access
- Editor role (or higher) — required to create, edit, and delete articles, blogs, and categories
- At least one Blog before you can publish an article (create blogs on the Blogs tab, or use + next to the Blog field when creating an article)
- At least one Category before you can save an article (create categories on the Categories tab, or use + next to the Category field)
- For video watch points, members must be signed in; points are recorded in Video → Watch History
- For member-site display, configure Articles or Articles Preview in Design Studio and link a blog from Menus
Articles list
The Articles tab is a searchable table:

| Status | Active or Inactive |
| Image | Article thumbnail |
| Title | Article name (click to edit) |
| Category | Category chips assigned to the article |
| Created | Creation date |
| Author | Admin who last updated the article |
| Blog | Parent blog name |
| Actions | Edit, Delete |
Click new to create an article, or click the title to edit.
Step-by-step
Set up blogs and categories first
Articles require both a blog and at least one category.
Create a blog
- Open Content → Articles → Blogs tab → new.
- Enter Blog Title and Status (Active or Inactive).
- Optionally set Company Tags and Member Tags to limit who sees articles in this blog on the member site.
- Click Save.
Create a category
- Open the Categories tab → new.
- Enter Category Title (must be unique).
- Click Save.
Categories are shared across blogs—they help members filter articles within a blog listing.
Create an article
- On the Articles tab, click new.
- On Content:
- Choose Blog (required). Use + to create a blog inline if needed.
- Choose one or more Category values (required). Use + to create a category inline.
- Enter Article Title (must be unique).
- Write the body in the rich text editor (headings, lists, links, formatting).
- On Image, upload or pick a hero image from the gallery. Saving an image updates the article automatically.
- On Settings, set Status and optional Member Tags / Company Tags for article-level visibility.
- Click Create Article (or Save Article when editing).
Add video and watch points (Video tab)
The Video tab has Settings and Watch History sub-tabs.
Video settings
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Video Origin | YouTube, Vimeo, or Incentable (hosted upload) |
| Video ID | The ID only—not the full URL (for example, hJdbCCYxxAA for YouTube, not the full youtube.com/watch?v=… link) |
| Watch Points | Points awarded when a member watches the video (leave empty for no points) |
| Video Only Post | When enabled, the member site shows the video instead of the article body |
A live preview appears when Video Origin and Video ID are set.
Watch History
- Open an existing article → Video tab → Watch History.
- Review which members watched, when, and how many points were awarded.
Control visibility (Settings tab)
Member Tags and Company Tags on articles, blogs, and menus work together:
| Tags on article | Who can see this article |
|---|---|
| None (empty) | All members who can access the parent blog and menu |
| One or more member tags | Members who have at least one of those tags |
| One or more company tags | Members whose company has at least one of those company tags |
When both member and company tags are set, both rules must pass. Blog-level tags further restrict the entire blog listing.
Set Status to Inactive to hide an article without deleting it.
Edit or delete
- Edit — Click the title or row Edit. Update any tab, then Save Article.
- Delete — Row menu → Delete → confirm (requires Editor; disabled on demo programs).
Delete blogs or categories
- Blogs — Delete is disabled while the blog still has articles. Reassign or delete articles first.
- Categories — Delete is disabled while any article uses the category. Remove the category from those articles first.
How articles appear on the member site
- Create Active articles in an Active blog.
- Add a menu item in Menus with destination Blog and select the blog.
- Optionally add Articles Preview (summary cards) or Articles (full listing) on Home, Articles, or other templates in Design Studio.
- Members see articles that match blog, article, and tag rules.
Video watch points credit the member’s account when viewing criteria are met (hosted Incentable videos track completion at approximately 95% watched).
Tips and limitations
- Editor role required — Observers can browse lists but cannot create or delete from row actions.
- Unique names — Duplicate article, blog, or category titles are rejected.
- Blog and category required — You cannot save an article without both.
- Video ID format — Enter only the platform ID, not the full video URL.
- Image auto-save — Uploading or clearing an image on the Image tab saves the article immediately.
- Demo programs — Create, save, delete, and uploads are disabled on demo programs.
- Inactive status — Set articles or blogs to Inactive instead of deleting when you want to retain history.
- Watch points — Configure point values on the article; fulfillment follows your program’s normal points balance rules.
